Although the 2027 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup is still nearly a year away, ticket demand for the marquee event has reached unprecedented heights. Within just a few days of opening the ticket ballot, over 120 million (12 crore) applications have been submitted for the 14th edition of the tournament, co-hosted by South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia.
According to the latest figures released by the International Cricket Council (ICC), approximately 2.8 million cricket enthusiasts across 193 nations have submitted initial applications for this massive volume of tickets.
The blockbuster encounter between fierce rivals India and Pakistan, scheduled for October 10, 2027, has emerged as the most sought-after fixture of the tournament, drawing nearly 8.4 million individual ticket applications.
Ticket applications for the World Cup Final have reached approximately 7.9 million requests. The 14-team tournament will feature 57 matches across 12 international venues in the three host countries.
The ICC confirmed that the initial ticket ballot phase will remain open until November 21, 2026. Because ticket demand vastly exceeds stadium capacities, final allocations will be determined through a computerized random lottery system.
