The government will thoroughly examine and verify all allegations raised against former President Mohammed Shahabuddin, Law Minister Md. Asaduzzaman announced on Sunday. He assured that while public demand will be given utmost priority, the government will also ensure no one falls victim to injustice during the process.
The Law Minister made these remarks while responding to reporters following an orientation and training workshop for new lawyers organized by the Chittagong District Bar Association, where he attended as the chief guest.
“The government will review everything through a legal framework and arrive at the right decision in due course. The public should trust the head of government and our administration. While we prioritize public demand, we will equally ensure that no unfair treatment takes place. After proper examination, the government will take appropriate action at the right time.”
When asked whether there are any legal travel restrictions preventing the former president from going abroad, the Law Minister clarified that the Ministry of Home Affairs holds jurisdiction over the matter.
