The official venues for the 14-team ICC Men’s ODI World Cup 2027 have been formally announced. The flagship tournament will be co-hosted by South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia.
On Thursday night, during a grand ceremony in Johannesburg, South Africa, the International Cricket Council (ICC) unveiled the 12 tournament venues alongside the official brand and theme.
The majority of the 54 tournament matches will take place across eight grounds in South Africa, while Zimbabwe and Namibia will host the remaining fixtures.
South Africa (8 Venues): Johannesburg, Centurion, Durban, Gqeberha, Qqeberha/Kugompo City, Cape Town, Paarl, and Bloemfontein.
Zimbabwe (3 Venues): Harare Sports Club, Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo, and Mosi-oa-Tunya in Victoria Falls (hosting 7 to 10 matches).
Namibia (1 Venue): The Namibia Cricket Ground in the capital city of Windhoek (hosting at least 3 matches).
The grand final of the World Cup will be hosted at either the iconic Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg or Newlands Cricket Ground in Cape Town.
Official Warm-up Matches: The official warm-up fixtures will be held in Benoni and Potchefstroom, South Africa.
Qualifying Venues: The World Cup qualifiers will take place in Namibia as well as in Benoni and Potchefstroom. The primary South African venues were excluded from holding qualifier matches due to the scheduling of the SA20 tournament during that window.
Historic Debut: While South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Kenya co-hosted the 2003 ODI World Cup, this marks Namibia’s debut as a co-host of an ICC ODI World Cup.
The ICC announced a special slogan and brand identity for the upcoming marquee event:
Official Brand: “Make the Circle Bigger”
Official Theme: “Three Nations, One Heartbeat”
The venue launch ceremony was attended by former and current South African stars including Graeme Smith, Makhaya Ntini, Hashim Amla, Temba Bavuma, and Kagiso Rabada, alongside Zimbabwe’s Hamilton Masakadza and representatives from Namibia.
Although exact dates have not yet been officially finalized, the organizers plan to host the tournament between October 4 and November 21, 2027.
