Popular television actress Tanjin Tisha has been granted bail in a fraud and breach-of-trust case filed over allegations of failing to pay for a saree sourced from an online fashion page and defaulting on a promised social media promotion.
On Thursday (August 13), at 11:25 AM, she surrendered before the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md. Jewel Rana and submitted a plea for bail. Following a hearing, the court approved her petition and ordered her release on bail.
According to court documents and the complaint, Tanjin Tisha acquired a saree worth BDT 28,800 from the online retailer ‘Aponia.’ The store management claimed that despite commitments to promote the garment and settle the payment, the actress severed communications. Following an unanswered legal notice, a case was lodged in November 2025. The Detective Branch (DB) of police subsequently conducted an investigation and submitted a report confirming prima facie evidence, leading the court to issue a summons.
Conversely, Tanjin Tisha refuted the allegations via a social media post, stating that the saree was provided to her as a complimentary gift, making any demand for payment groundless. While the bail order provides temporary legal relief, trial proceedings will continue in accordance with standard legal protocols.
