The Bangladesh Police force has undergone major promotions and reshuffles. Six officers holding the rank of Deputy Inspector General (DIG) have been promoted to Additional Inspector General of Police (Additional IGP). In a separate order, two other DIGs have been attached to the Prime Minister’s Office for posting as Directors of the National Security Intelligence (NSI).
These decisions were announced through separate notifications issued by the Public Security Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Public Administration.
According to the notification from the Ministry of Public Administration, Md. Aminul Islam (DIG, Rangpur Range) and Dr. Mohammad Abdul Kader (DIG, Special Branch) have been attached to the Prime Minister’s Office on deputation for appointment as Directors at the NSI.
The separate orders issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Public Administration stipulate that these changes take immediate effect.
