Significant progress has been made in the acquisition process of China’s 4.5-generation J-10CE multirole fighter jets to modernize the Bangladesh Air Force. A draft agreement has already been prepared to this end, confirmed Zahed Ur Rahman, Adviser to the Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting.
He announced this during a press conference regarding government activity updates held at the Secretariat on Tuesday (August 25).
Combat Proven Capability: Information Adviser Zahed Ur Rahman highlighted that the J-10’s operational success against advanced 4.5-generation aircraft like the Dassault Rafale in combat scenarios is internationally recognized, drawing Bangladesh’s strategic interest.
Budget and Quality Parity: Compared to European alternatives (such as the Rafale or Eurofighter Typhoon), Chinese multirole fighters offer comparable technology and operational capabilities at a substantially lower acquisition cost.
