The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 491 individuals during regular operations across the capital over the past 24 hours. A total of 39 cases were filed in connection with various offenses during this period.
In a press release issued on Friday (August 28, 2026), DMP Deputy Commissioner (Media and Public Relations) Md. Akhtar Hossain confirmed the details. The arrests and seizures of drugs and weapons were made as various divisions of the DMP conducted targeted drives across different police station areas in the metropolis.
Legal action against all arrested individuals is currently underway at their respective local police stations as part of ongoing measures to maintain law and order across the capital.
