Norway launched their UEFA Nations League campaign with a dramatic 3–2 victory over Scandinavian rivals Denmark in a high-voltage clash at the Ullevaal Stadion in Oslo. Manchester City star striker Erling Haaland proved to be the hero for the hosts, netting a decisive brace to secure all three points.
Norway asserted their authority early on home soil. In the 14th minute, captain Martin Ødegaard played a precise pass to Oscar Bobb, who slotted home to break the deadlock (1–0). Just four minutes later (18′), Antonio Nusa set up Haaland, who doubled the lead with a powerful clinical finish (2–0).
Faced with a two-goal deficit, Denmark pressed forward. In the 25th minute, Mikkel Damsgaard brought the visitors back into the contest with a brilliant curling free-kick (2–1).
The Danes carried their momentum into the second half and found an equalizer in the 60th minute. Manchester United forward Rasmus Højlund rose inside a crowded box to head home, bringing Denmark level at 2–2.
However, Denmark’s joy was short-lived. In the 74th minute, following a corner kick routine, Ødegaard delivered a precise cutback to Haaland, who lashed a powerful shot into the net for his second of the night and the match-winner for Norway (3–2).
In stoppage time (90+3′), Norwegian defender David Møller Wolfe received a second yellow card, reducing the home side to ten men. Despite the late numerical disadvantage, Norway held firm through the closing minutes to seal the thrilling 3–2 victory.
