West Indies captain Shai Hope continues to turn his tour of India into a historic milestone-filled campaign. By smashing an unbeaten century off just 50 balls in the 4th T20I against host India, Hope became the first West Indian batter to record three international T20 centuries, surpassing West Indies legends Chris Gayle and Evin Lewis.
This performance marks Hope’s fourth century across ODIs and T20Is on the current tour of India and draws West Indies level at 2–2 in the five-match T20I series.
Centurions Finish via Back-to-Back Sixes: Needing 12 runs off the final two deliveries of the innings to reach three figures, Hope launched consecutive sixes to finish on exactly 100* off 50 balls. His innings featured 4 boundaries and 9 sixes at a blistering strike rate of 204.00.
Overtaking Gayle & Lewis + 2,000 T20I Runs: Prior to this match, Chris Gayle and Evin Lewis held the West Indian record with two T20I centuries each. With his third T20I ton, Hope takes sole possession of the national record while simultaneously surpassing the 2,000-run milestone in T20 international cricket.
Series Decider in Bengaluru: Hope’s match-winning effort sets up a winner-takes-all final clash. The 5th and deciding T20I will be played at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Saturday (October 17, 2026), starting at 7:30 PM BST.
