The number of U.S. service members injured since the onset of military conflict involving Iran has surpassed 750, reaching a total of 757, according to updated data from the U.S. Department of Defense (Pentagon) reported by CNN.
The rise in casualties comes after the Pentagon updated its casualty analysis system, adding more than 50 newly reported injuries. Meanwhile, diplomatic negotiations aimed at securing a ceasefire or de-escalating tensions between the two nations remain at a standstill.
According to Pentagon records, casualties from recent military engagements are cataloged under the newly instituted Overseas Operations division within the Defense Casualty Analysis System (DCAS).
While the casualty totals have been updated, the Department of Defense has not publicly disclosed specific details regarding targeted installations or specific attack locations.
