President Pezeshkian articulated this firm stance in an official message posted on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday (September 8, 2026). Against the backdrop of the escalating crisis in the Middle East, his statement underscores Tehran’s unwillingness to concede under military or political pressure.
In his message, the Iranian President emphasized that the Islamic Republic of Iran is fundamentally opposed to military conflict and has consistently sought to avoid war to protect regional security and public interest. However, he made it clear that just as Iran has courageously defended its sovereignty against past hostility, full-scale resistance will persist until enemy forces demonstrate full repentance for their actions, safeguarding the sovereign rights and dignity of the Iranian nation.
