Syed Muhammad Rezaul Karim, Amir of Islami Andolan Bangladesh and Charmonai Pir, expressed deep anger, stating that expected national development is being hampered because corrupt individuals penetrate every corner of society and siphon money abroad.
Speaking as the chief guest at the central conference of the affiliate organization ‘Jatiya Shikshak Forum’ at an auditorium in the capital on Friday (August 28, 2026), Rezaul Karim remarked that corrupt individuals have rotated through power for the last 55 years since independence. He alleged that politicians come to power promising development, only to deceive the public and launder the hard-earned money of ordinary citizens overseas.
He further noted that teachers are forced to take to the streets year after year demanding their rightful Monthly Pay Order (MPO) inclusion. However, if the country were free of corruption, the government could easily meet not only MPO demands but also all basic needs of the public. He warned that nothing good can be expected from a ruling class that fails to respect teachers—the architects of the nation.
Rampant corruption and illegal capital flight are directly choking Bangladesh’s infrastructure and socio-economic progress.
Describing teachers’ protests as regrettable, he emphasized that no nation can advance without ensuring economic security and social respect for its educators.
