🏏 Towhid Hridoy Rewrites History with Historic Triple Century (300*) on Foreign Soil

Towhid Hridoy script a heroic batting masterpiece at Potchefstroom—a venue historically intertwined with Bangladesh’s greatest international triumph—becoming the first-ever Bangladeshi batter to score a triple century (300*) in first-class cricket on foreign soil. Anchored by a monumental, marathon 450-ball innings, the batsman from Bogura etched his name into the annals of Bangladesh cricket history.
Hridoy reached the miraculous landmark on Day 2 of the four-day unofficial Test match against South Africa ‘A’ in Potchefstroom on Wednesday (September 2, 2026). The venue holds profound sentimental value: it was on this very ground in 2020 that Bangladesh clinched the ICC Under-19 World Cup title under Akbar Ali’s leadership. Six years later, playing for Bangladesh ‘A’, Hridoy delivered the highest individual first-class score by any Bangladeshi on foreign soil.
En route to this legendary triple century, Hridoy shattered a 23-year-old record for Bangladesh ‘A’. Shahriar Hossain Bidyut’s 218-run knock against Defense Housing Authority in Karachi back in 2003 had stood as the highest individual score for Bangladesh ‘A’ in first-class cricket. Having completed his double century on Day 1, Hridoy surpassed Bidyut during the opening session of Day 2. While Tamim Iqbal (334*) and Raqibul Hasan (313) had previously recorded first-class triple centuries on domestic soil, Hridoy becomes the first Bangladeshi to achieve the milestone abroad against a formidable international opposition.
