Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Professor Mia Golam Parwar has strongly rejected recent allegations made by Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Administrator Shafiqul Islam Khan, as well as claims circulating on social media and talk shows alleging his ownership of 700 illegal battery-operated auto-rickshaws. Characterizing the claims as completely baseless and a reflection of “political bankruptcy,” Parwar issued an open challenge asking accusers to present public proof of a single rickshaw registered in his name.
The Jamaat leader gave a sharp response to what he termed a coordinated smear campaign through an official statement published on social media and during an interaction with journalists on Saturday (October 10, 2026).
