Singer Anusheh Anadil, whose soulful renditions of iconic folk-fusion tracks such as “Tomar Ghore” and “Ghate Lagiya Dinga” captivated music lovers, quietly stepped away from the stage at the peak of her career. For years, fans were left wondering why one of the country’s most celebrated fusion artists had suddenly vanished from live concerts and the music scene.
Breaking her long silence, Anusheh has finally shared the painful reality behind her absence.
Battle With Tinnitus and the Retreat Into Silence
Anusheh revealed that she suffers from tinnitus, a debilitating medical condition that is causing her to gradually lose her hearing. The condition causes a persistent, loud ringing or noise inside her ears, making high-decibel sounds and loud environments physically unbearable.
Reflecting on her health struggle, Anusheh shared:
“I am slowly losing my ability to hear. I have something called tinnitus. And the noise in my ear is so loud that I can no longer stand loud noises. It literally hurts my ears.”
She further explained:
“The doctors asked me to wear hearing aids, but that dependency is making me hear even less and my tinnitus worse. So I stopped wearing them.”
