Students across the country are becoming increasingly addicted to digital devices, and fostering an active sports culture is the primary solution to this issue, stated Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milan. He also emphasized the need for teachers to maintain greater vigilance over student behavior and classroom instruction.
The Minister made these remarks on Tuesday afternoon (July 21) during an exchange of views with primary education officials in Mirpur, Dhaka.
Issuing a stern warning, the Minister stated that strict administrative action will be taken against teachers who fail to arrive at school on time or neglect their teaching duties. He also directed Upazila Education Officers to step up regular school inspections to ensure the quality of education at the grassroots level.
Concluding the meeting, the Minister announced that the nationwide ‘Prime Minister’s Gold Cup Football Tournament’ will kick off on August 9 in an effort to bring the youth back to sports fields.
