Lamine Yamal, the young sensation of Spanish football and a Euro winner, has made history off the pitch in the sports memorabilia market. A rare “One-of-One” Kaboom Rookie Card featuring the Barcelona star was sold at an auction for a staggering $707,600.
With this sale, the 18-year-old forward surpassed the auction values of cards featuring football legends Pelé and Lionel Messi at the same event.
Two additional rare rookie items featuring Yamal were also sold for substantial amounts at the same event. In total, the auction house generated $1,049,200 from the sale of Yamal’s three memorabilia items alone.
Having made an extraordinary impact on both club and international football in such a short span, Yamal’s rookie cards have reached unprecedented demand among global collectors.
