Netanyahu Meets Trump at White House for First Talks Since Iran ConflictWASHINGTON DESKIsraeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is set to meet US President Donald Trump at the White House on Tuesday—marking their first in-person meeting since the onset of the conflict with Iran, a war that has at times strained relations between the two long-standing allies. The bilateral meeting will be dominated by post-escalation strategy following joint US-Israeli strikes in late February. While Washington has signaled a desire to pursue diplomatic avenues, Israel has refrained from joining the latest round of US-Iran hostilities that flared up after an April ceasefire collapsed. The visit represents the eighth meeting between the two leaders since President Trump returned to office. In addition to their White House summit, both leaders are scheduled to attend the memorial service for late US Senator Lindsey Graham. “This is a great privilege, but it is also a great responsibility,” Netanyahu remarked before departing Israel on Monday. “We will discuss all the issues on the agenda, first and foremost Iran. Naturally, our goal is to safeguard our security and also to expand the circle of peace around us.”
